The Whispering Voice of Greatness
“Whenever you find the whole world against you just turn around and lead the world.”

The unique thing about being extraordinary is the ability to know when to take an “extra” step just before one give up the fight. An extra step of faith always do makes a difference.

I usually like to use Thomas Edison, an American inventor, as a reference point whenever topics like this popped up in my head. It is in human nature to mostly want to give up or give in to defeat whenever things doesn’t go according to how they have earlier planned it.

But when you read the biography of great men and women world over, Thomas Edison for example, you’ll realize that none of them started great. Like the gigantic trees we see today, they were once but a “seed” – they started somewhere, is not as if they had greatness thrust on them.

Thomas Edison, in his attempt to develop an incandescent electric light bulb, experienced what one would usually experience whenever he is trying to birth something great in the world. I’m sure he’d lost count on so many ocassion that he tried and failed woefully.

Did he succeeded? Oh yes, he did but not without a fight! He realized that the there is something special inside of him that is calling out to him. He knew if he listen to it, it might end up being his moment of great rejoicing – breakthrough.

Henry Ford has to battled with cynic and critics, who stand in the way as barrier to his marvelous idea of inventing a four wheel moveable automobile. The idea is that it is an impossible task to achieve. They tried everything they can, under the disguiseof advising him, to talk him out of what they consider an “insane idea,” which they had concluded that it cannot be done.

I think we all need to listen to the quiet, serene voice within our heart…whispering something to us. I’m sure that if we all learn to do as “it” says, the sky will not only be the limit on how far we can go…but our starting point.

Remember, Thomas Edison did it; Henry Ford did it; Bill Gate did it; and a lot many others. If they succeeded, you too can. They are not having some kind of special powers. They only realize that there is something special inside of them, and they act on it. Be the best for the world. Selah!

  1. With reference to a response I just publish to your comment on my post….I think what many people need to know is that……that inner motivational voice speaking to them is the best form of motivation, truth is….I don’t have any problem with motivational books..though I can never use my hard earn cash to buy one and if received as a gift…it will be passed on….am just not at home with the idea that one has to depend on them to excel…I keep asking those that are so engrossed in reading it: what if no one wrote on motivation, won’t you take a step to do it on your own?…. Its obvious from the people reflected in your story and the history they have made was made from listening to the voice within(self motivation).

    1. You’re kinda right in a sense. Yes, i quite agree with you that the inner voice speaking to each one is the best teacher one should reckon with. But again, you need to understand that some people have lost touch of their innermost drive – the motivation that thrust them to action. The Bible succinctly made this clear when it says that some people’s mind have been blinded with false assumption of the world. else what would you say of a smoker who still go ahead to smoke, even after reading from the pack that smokers are liable to die young? What would you say about someone who has been brainwash to carry weapon of destruction and unleash it on innocent masses? I think our society needs the inner push for it to attain it’s purpose. Mind you, there are several distractions and information around that could deter you from becoming all that you are destined to be.

      1. Are people really carrying weapons to cause mass destruction because they are brain washed to do so or because of the fringe benefits that comes with doing so?….either way you see it…there is a motivation being it cash or other things best known to them…..and as for the smokers……. Why I can’t justify their deliberate reduction of life cycle…..I can say for sure that they just refuse to be self motivated and believe me aside the devine intervention…..they are the only ones that can motivate or give themselves reasons to quite the act…hence, self motivation………this is a debate for another day……….peace

      2. I’ll like to start by saying that…when the purpose for something is not realize, abuse is inevitable. Most people do not even know why they are alive in the first place. This may be the reason a writer once said that people (day in day out) go to the grave with music still in them. What a shame!
